I bought mine a few years back for £3,500, the diesels usually cost a bit more and thats also the top end sport lux. I would check through all the service history for any items replaced and when the cambelt was done etc, you won't really find a better equiped car for the money.

shameless advertising

my s40 diesel will be up for sale during january, its a 2003 s40 diesel sport with 108,000 on the clock, had cambelt changed about 6 months ago and has full service history and i'd be after alot less than the 3k motor you just linked to

I have seen Pinhead's S40 and its in really good condition I guess it depends if you are wanting an estate or a saloon.

Thanks guys. May consider an s40 but really I'm in no hurry so can afford to hold out for a v40 unless the price is especially good.

Car looks spot on and in a good colour, check the tyres are ok and don't panic if some of the interior dash lights have gone (common issue). If I were buying a V40 again that looks like exactly the car I would be going for
Not sure about the missing drivers door handle though.

I think it is a bit overpriced, but then again, that is just my personal opinion. £2000-£2500 is what I would expect for it to sell for

Hadn't noticed the missing door handle. Nonetheless, they've sold it today so saves me a journey. Quite determined now to get my hands on one
