Maybe a bit further than you want to travel, but Hutton Bros. in Slingsby are excellent and about half the price of Volvo.
They will be about 50 miles from you: http://www.huttonbros.co.uk/

Or P&R cars on Kirkstall road. Volvo indie who have always done a good job on mine, not bad prices also
http://pandrcars.com/contact-us.php Have your AWD system checked out before winter, even though it's driving well, the AWD might not be working. Plenty of threads on the subject, do a search Oh, avoid Harratts Leeds at all cost. Wakefiled is OK if it's warranty work, but Leeds can't follow Volvo procedures properly and screw your car up, won't take responsibility, want to charge YOU to fix their mistake, and only admit liability when you take in printouts from the Volvo workshop manual to prove they did it wrong! Ask me how I know Is your's auto or manual? If it's auto, have you had the gearbox oil changed?

Cost of servicing
My XC90 is a 2009 just out of warranty. I priced up a 3 year serviced at a few local independents in the Manchester/Oldham. And guess what, the local Volvo dealership was cheaper. And you get 12 months Volvo Recovery with the service too. Always worth checking, it's only a phone call.

Many times do I find the Volvo Dealer prices for parts (especially when the VOC Discount is applied) are no more than those from other suppliers - what's more, you are getting the parts from the Volvo approved manufacturers/suppliers. The same applied with my previous car, a Vauxhall Vectra C. With both the Vec and the XC, complete all round brake O/hauls were done with discounted dealer supplied parts that were cheaper than those from many of the 'good name' online suppliers.

I switched to non franchised because of the appalling service from Harratts in Leeds.
Now I can source the parts myself from wherever is cheapest if I want and can watch the work being done if I want... There's a dealer in Bradford selling genuine parts on ebay at a fraction of the price of over the counter, and free delivery if you're within 12 miles
