Lovely job on the car. The manual conversion is tempting and probably would do it if I didn't have other manuals to drive.

Don't see that many older Volvo's knocking around here and I'm sure that 242 would surprise our local boy racers.

Hey Doug,

How's the car going since all the mods have been done? Any problems so far (big or small)?

I saw a photo of both your car and Carson's car on another site the other night. Both look really sweet cars. Your buddies 242 looks pretty cool too.

Cheers,

Hi Doug.
Is that an S60R top turbo pipe I see there?
How did you get that to fit?
Do you have a custom I/C or something?
What Turbo is that too?
Lovely looking motor!

Later,
Dan.

Aha, I'm more of a post whore than Doug!

The answers are...
Yes.
A quick cut and weld at the turbo end.
Yes.
A Garrett GT3741 (something like that...help Doug! I can't be bothered to go and look at your project thread! )

Inside, it's a Stuart Williams-esque spec. Doug is a FWD wimp now, so he's not going to be winding it out thaaaat far....but....I've seen a bit of video from when it was first being run in on low boost, and judging by that it will be obscenely quick...

cheers

James

Doh Im sorry guys:

1. Yes it is an S60R pipe. I actually just cut off the end and let the bead weld form its own flange. Worked out ok. Fitment is a PITA though... but worked out well for the front mount IC I made.

2. Turbo is a GT3071R, 63AR, small inlet compressor, internal gate. Seems to be working well :-D

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=dougt5r Theres quite a few videos there. I recently had it on the dyno (Carson and I did) but the numbers read WAY low. Carsons 18T, 18psi, 3" dp, supersprint cat back, WorthRline ECU ect only made 211whp. He dyno'd on the same dyno stock @ 208whp.. so something was goofy that day. I dyno'd a 100whp stronger on a "best guess" ecu and 18psi though... lol

We are redynoing in the next few days. I think its putting out a solid 350-360whp @ 18psi (and Carson 250-260).
