URGENT ADVICE REQUIRED for S60r

Hello,

I have a S50 T5 SE and ive offered a S60r dash/speedo.. i've read about software upgrades from volvo?

I assume theses arent plug and play?

can anyone advise ??

A few people have used S60R clocks in their cars and as far as I know they are plug & play. No software down loads needed.

Just remember to disconnect battery for an hour before you even start.

I think it's off to Volvo to program it as miles display,not to sure though.

So a search on here

You will find you can not fit a used dash, into another vehicle,,

The used dash will have the software of the car it was originally fitted to, and in the off chance it did work, if your car needed to be connected up to Volvo at a later date, the "foreign" dash could cause all sorts of trouble, and shut the car down

Neil,

You are UNIQUE in the fact that you are wanting to replace a Dash in an EX PLOD ... The Dash you have is "Calibrated for Police use" (To use Volvo's own words)......

YES you CAN fit the S60R dash & it SHOULD work (Other members on here & the VVC have done it & its been Fine) ... but you MUST remember that the the Dash clocks will Read the "DASH MILEAGE" & NOT the Mileage recorded in the Cars ECU memory Chip ...

+ you will HAVE TO go to Volvo Main Agent & get the Software Upgrade which is NOT A CHEAP OPTION .....

My PERSONAL OPINION do what Paul is doing & fit "dash Rings Like this >>>>
