Optional extra WITHOUT any extra costs! Don't know why people don't take that...

Because you lose your foglights and get LEDs that aren't to all people's tastes. I for one would much rather have LED DRLs built into the main headlamp clusters and retain foglights for the rare occasions they are needed.

I don't care for the current trend of emblazoning the front of cars with LEDs in inappropriate places. The bottom of the bumper is best suited to foglights to light up the road under fog. Further up the car is more noticable and surely a better location for LED DRLs. The Volvo 2012 option smacks of Volvo's lazy design and saving themselves a few quid by replacing the cheapest component to achieve LED DRL functionality.

Only my opinion and differing opinions make the world the interesting place that it is.

My C30 came with foglights from factory and Xenon lights. I have never felt the urge to turn them on. My Mum's S80 has halogen lights and foglights. Even there: no need for them. Even in the thickest fog...

At least you are offered two versions by Volvo. Audi, VW, Ford, etc. give you LED strips - no matter if you want them or not.
