I suspect they maybe a bit easier to get now as more of the p2 models start to get scrapped, but they are a bit difficult to come by - I searched ebay and breakers for about 3 months when I was looking for one about 18 months ago

If you go for a scrappy most of them don't get much use at all so are likely to be in good condition. I'd suggest downloading the fitting instructions in advance so you can see what parts are needed; for instance, there are fixings under the floor and the side panels also get changed. When the seats came from Volvo new, there was a full wooden crate's worth of bits.

I managed to get a car with them fitted in the end and they work really well! When I was thinking of trying to get a set, I was advised the tailgate lock is different when these are fitted and people often forget about that when removing them form scrap cars.

I think it has to do with opening them from the outside (?), but worth bearing in mmind

Good point about the lock. There is an extra lock cylinder fitted on the outside to allow access with a key, this is normally matched to the car so, would either have to be fitted from the donor with a different key or ordered from Volvo which I would imagine would be quite expensive?
