V40 Wanted

Hi, looking for a V40, automatic, after mine was written off. I am in Essex. Price up to £2000. Off to Kent tomorrow to check on a few.

dont have an auto but a manual

late 2000 v40 phase 2 t4 sport, just under 100,000 on clock, fsh, mot until december, cambelt replaced at 90,000 along with the major service that was due

also just had pads done all round

i might be picking a new car up in the next few days so this will be up for sale at around £1500 ono a good price i feel for a car with history, only down point, tax until end of month

but that can be sorted if need be

Thanks for that but I haven't driven a manual since 1992 and I would certainly need some refresher lessons to go back to manual. Once again thanks for thinking of me though and I am sure you will find someone who will appreciate your car.

Thank you. I have seen an X reg V40 in Strood. I like the car but sounds like it is going to need a new CV joint replaced (at least I think that is what it is). Waiting to talk to my mechanic tomorrow to see if its worth doing. The rest seems sound and they willing to drop to £1,000 so well within my budget. Apart from the "clunk" he drives like a dream even had a spin on the motorway so fingers crossed.

as long as its just a cv it shouldnt be an expensive job, does it clunk under power? definitely coming from one of the wheels?

Definitely coming from one of the wheels. My mechanic is going to see the car with me on Wednesday so he will be able to verify the problem for me and decide whether it is worth while or not. On the info. I have been able to give him he seems quite keen on the car. Will let you know what happens then. Thanks.

YAY! Picked up my V40 today. It is lovely. X reg bluey/greeny/pearlescent finish. Had a good drive home before leaving him with my mechanic to give him a thorough going over, hopefully will have it back on Friday.
