Default S80 DIM replacement

Ive seen a few topics on here about this along with my problem(page full of errors, air bag warnings ect) But I kinda have a specific problem. Ill start from my first mistake.
I had to replace my cd player but couldnt get it out due to it being in park, I left the ignition in 1 and moved it out of park, replaced the cd player and called it a day. Next day I noticed the srs warning and didnt pay much attention to it for a few weeks. I took it into volvo and they wanted 3500$ to replace my DIM and timing belt.
Ive seen the topics on how to DIY fix the DIM but what I was wondering is if by me causing the error by changing the cd player with the car on if that would have any effects on my results. The topics Ive seen were just people who had faulty problems with their DIM not a stupid move, like what I did. Im not putting 3500$ into my car but Im also not 100% sure if self fixing the DIM will fix my problems.
Thanks for reading.

I figure I could add on to it. Reading the guide on soldering the DIM could that potentially solve my problems? I dont have a code scanner but I guess autozone could clear it out?

Did you unplug the climate controls when you removed the cdplayer?

I understand this generates an airbag warning which can be easily reset

Unless there are other issues with the DIM (e.g. scrolling text, clock problems, turn arrows not working etc) it won't need replacing

Which volvo do you have? 3500$ for dim and timing belt.. speechless... This stealer mistakes Volvo with RR, no doubt. Just find another one in your area and explain that you just need fault codes erasing. Or you can check on ebay for "columbiadream" and buy vida dice dealer-level scanner and make a lot of stuff with your Volvo including code erasing. If your DIM is faulty and need resoldering, any local TV repair shop will gladly resolder it for few dollars.

You've just tripped the codes by leaving the battery connected - a trip to a volvo dealer or specialist with the code clearing software will sort it. I found it worth buying vida/dice myself, a useful tool when the car is playing up as mine ofter does. lol.

As for the timing belt, if it needs doing you'll have to bite the bullet and get it done.
