Check the threads on ETM ( electronic throttle ) , you can check if yours has been done , think its a yellow lable for the replacement or white lable for original . Having your car checked using DICE or VCT2000 diagnostic would be best starting point as its not necessarily the ETM causing it .

Hello, Are you new to Volvos? Bernard333 referred to specific equipment which can peer much more deeply into the brains of your Volvo than most generic or aftermarket equipment. A detailed read-out might have saved you expense of 5 replacement coils and plugs. In addition to learning if your ETM is original or a replacement, you can read how to clean the ETM yourself. Sometimes that helps. Sometimes it doesn't. You can take your VIN (17 digit serial number) to a Volvo dealer and ask if there are any outstanding downloads to be installed into your car. If the car drives well or even just adequately it would pay to do some reading before throwing too much money at it. Is the garage you patronize familiar with Volvos? How may miles are on your car? Kira
