As some of you may know, I was looking for a pen holder for my S60, but I needed a black one, which is, apparently , very hard to find, unlike the grey ones.

I found a black one, but was also sent a grey one FOC, which the chap thought was black. When it arrived it had a scratch under the rubber pen holder part, and I noticed it was black under the grey, so I wondered if it was just painted, and it turns out it was!

So I decided to see how easy it was to remove the paint, so here goes

I used some methylated spirit and kitchen roll and rubbed the area around the scratch, this started to remove the pain, but very slowly, so I scratched at it with my finger nail and it came straight off!

Here you can see where it was grey

And here you can see where I am removing the grey paint, in the end I used an old credit card to scrape the paint off, as my nails were getting disgusting! and a credit card doesn't have any sharp edges to scratch the plastic.

And here's the finished article, nice and black and un-damaged!

I don't know if this is going to be of any interest to anyone, but I thought I would post it just incase.

And don't forget, you need to swap the black rubber holder from your old piece to your new one, as the holder on the grey ones is grey rubber, and looks a bit odd on the black!

So there you go! I now have a spare black pen holder, just incase my father in law breaks another one
