Default '90 740 Turbo/'93 940 Turbo parts compatibility?

Have just been alerted to a reasonably local 940 Turbo (saloon) which may be breaking - it's a '93.

Just wondering, how useful could this be as a donor to my '90 740 turbo (estate)? I thinking of items such as interior trim, brake calipers, engine components (not sure what engine is in the 940), relays...?

Engine parts will be 100% compatible. It will have the same B230FT as yours. Interior trim the same bar the obvious saloon differences. Brake calipers will probably be 'Jumbos', whereas yours now are probably 'Bigs'.

If that's the white saloon up on DoneDeal.ie I texted him. It has a B200F in it. Not the original engine as he blew that and swapped in the B200F and it won't start. The Virgo alloys are also not in great shape and at least one of them is warped. The fact that he got Virgos on a 940 would seem to indicate that it is a non ABS as from what I have read on the forums they will fit without touching the caliper.

It sounds as though the car has had a bit of a rough time though.

That's the one Justin. rod25 pointed it out to me but I suspect it could be a wasted journey (even in this weather) looking for a few bits'n pieces from it which may not even suit.

Default Nope

By and large

(1) 740 is likely to have a pre-emissions engine, B230ET with 531 head (grab, grab) and halfway decent cam (but 9mm rods, maybe, depending on age) but 940 likely to be an F series (emissions control) likely to be 530 head and a crap cam but 13mm rods. So engine not a good thing.

(2) 7 series, on changing to 9 series, changed the metal a fair bit in front of the A post but not a lot from there back.

(3) dashes may well be different and thus binnacles etc.

(4) always worth stealing relays.
