Default FIA Amazon Homologation papers

I have inherited the above with a job lot of Volvo bits.

Just trying to seperate the crud from the useful.
The papers are from Jan '62 and Jan '65 and have loads of photos and tech. specs.

One set ('62) for a four door.
One set ('65) for a two door Chassis no: 144.400 engine: 496820-101

Are they historic documents worth keeping (?!) or useless crud and shall I just bin them???

Any ideas or info greatly appreciated.

Gordon

Try Keith Wilson, if anyone knows, he will.

Default hairyapple asks.....

I can't stand the curiosity, what are these papers? Even though I don't know what they are or what the photos are of my instinct is always to save this kind of stuff. If you opt not to i'll be glad to pay the postage to the USA.

I would be very interested in a copy of the two door set if it could be arranged

Thanks everyone for your help.

I got an email back this morning from Keith Wilson and it turns out they are certainly worth keeping. They detail all the modifications permitted in period for the car in question for rallying, etc.

I don't know if the papers are worth much to anybody (I'm not interested in rallying), but I'm restoring a very rusty '67 P1800 at the moment and need to raise some cash, so maybe someone might like to make me an offer of a donation towards my restoration project in exchange??
I also have loads of Amazon bits available inc. working rev counter, 123 GT parts, racing header, wings, etc, etc.
Otherwise, if nobody is interested, I'll stick them all on eBay.

Many thanks,

Gordon

Default hairyapple sez..Everyone has their price

Maybe you sort out the wheat from the shaft, then copy the pertinent pages and come up with a number that would satisfy you, so that the wider world could share it. Otherwise I'd be interested if I just knew secifically what you had. Some of the parts might interest me as well, where do we go from here?

Default Are they available - March 2012?

Having just bought a 1967 Amazon for historic rallying, I would much appreciate a copy of the Amazon homologation papers. Does anyone know where these are available from currently please?

Happy to provide fees/copying /postage.

Hi Gordon, I have a 1966, 4 door Amazon and it was fitted with a Rev Counter. The rev counter is Smiths with a Sun Instruments control box that is fitted somewhere under the bonnet. The control box was rather badly corroded and a friend, ex RAF and very knowledgeable, knackered my control box when he forced it open breaking the plastic. I would be very interested to hear about yours and also if you would let me know how much you want for it. I would be very keen to buy it.
Cheers
