Default not too bad

I have a full 3'' exhaust with one silencer and cat , it's not too loud. I would go with 10psi unchipped. Suprised you've not hit boost cut out this Winter! Just keep and eye out for chips, someone will be selling them.
cheers, Carl.

tps = Throttle position sensor. On a 940 it is a simple switch which you can hear click when the throttle is closed. It instructs the ECU to control the idle. You should be able to find instructions to set it properly somewhere on this forum.

Good idea to do a compression test, you'll be able to check the spark plugs at the same time. Also checking all the inlet system for air leaks, these are often the cause of an erratic idle.

As for the exhaust you'll find that the turbo quietens the exhaust quite a lot on it's own, you only really need one silencer in the system to keep in down to a acceptable level. But you do, as mentioned above, need a catalytic converter in it to pass the MOT emissions test.

The boost you have doesn't sound good especially as it goes up so high and then drops. What method are you using to raise it ?
I would lower the boost for a start. If you are running the standard chip in the ECU 10psi on 97 fuel is safe, you can go higher if you use 99 or 100 though.
On a well used engine the headgaskets don't like the extra exercise when you wind the boost up. Check the plugs and keep an eye on the coolant. It might just be an ignition fault but it might be a good idea to be careful untill you find out whats going on.

you are hitting fuel cut too with standard ecu mate,if i was you i would fit a 960 3in maf ,me7 blue injectors off the later t5s with the resistor mod ,and then run t5r spark plugs ngk platnum are good for our cars and gets rid of spark blow out too.i will pm you my number if you want to chat regarding resistor mod mate.
