Don, I'm sorry but if you don't like the facts don't try calling me opinionated and a trouble maker; and I am very much 'on the ball' thank you. I haven't sent you an offensive PM, so that is a blatant lie. In point of fact, the PM I sent you simply referred you to the reply I had received from Sten, which clearly refutes the claims made about his rods, etc. no more no less - as you well know! Nor have I mentioned you in an email to Sten - which is there for all to see! I was referring to an American 'manufacturer', not a retailer, as you are in this regard, and which I originally mentioned here, but which you seem to have missed. If anything, I an offended by your attitude toward me, and an apology would be in order!

I think the lot of you should stop be so bloody offended by each other...and T should probably moderate his tone, at least... Right, moderator hat off...
Sten didn't actually say his stuff *wasn't* manufactured in China. Many manufacturers try to avoid confirming where their stuff is actually made, for fear of the connotations. Said connotations are usually unfounded anyway. And before you accuse me of Sten-bashing, there are four of his finest rods (and pistons) in an engine in the garage... The Chinese stuff is clearly fit for purpose. Maybe Sten's is nicer, maybe it's not...but the Chinese stuff is definitely not junk. We have SPM kit in our 'built' engine...but would I go elsewhere without too much concern, too. cheers James

To put my unbiased hat on James, and this is the last I will say in this thread - unless provoked.
I wasn't exactly the one throwing insults around left and right, so I think you should probably have told Don the same thing, or not bothered at all. Frankly, I'm finding the whole thing overblown and a waste of time and effort. 'Nuff Said, End of!! Cheers, T

I was working on the basis that you started it Yeah, Don came back with robust comments, and I encouraged the pair of you to calm down, but it was you who took it down that road...
cheers James
