In addition to above, whether you choose new or used, arm yourself with some silicone grease, or spray, to make for easy assembly and wipe off any excess residue with a microfiber as it can attract dust.

Ever noticed how an engine sounds different, especially diesel variants, when you remove the various covers/under trays? Volvo probably spent a great deal of time and money developing these suppression devices only for an uneducated tech/mech to chuck said noise absorption in the skip as it cost him 5 minutes of your time to remove. BTW...I'm just ranting at the workmanship I've witnessed in recent years...not yours.
