Hi ya folks ,
I'm after a pair of front quarter lights in as best condition as possible anything considered even one from one person and anther from someone else to make a really smart pair up , they are for a customer who is doing a project needing very gd quality to match his build please view his project here to see where they wil be used .... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1040576535987767/ So please let me know if anyone has a good pair or one side near on mint due to no one selling them refurbed or new this is the avenue we need to take even if they need a gd polish not a problem but least a foundation we can work with to solve this area of build please . Contact me here or Doug via his Facebook page etc and arrange to have a deal that suits both parties thank you . Kind regards Robert.w

Q/ lights
It is possible to disassemble and get rechromed , time consuming ,but worth it same as passenger windows...I even got the right rivets from CVI.

Yes indeed very expensive tho when pricing all the needed parts plus chroming work (rubbers are like £80 per side and frames when rotten cost g aswell £ ) so this is an option we are investigating to give us options at this stage

Robert,
I'd been looking for a decent pair of 1/4 lights since 2009! There's a chap breaking an Amazon on ebay (the fire damaged rally car). Maybe ask him if the 1/4 lights are available? I recently picked up a pair for my car from Luke on this forum: frames had light surface corrosion and they needed new rubbers (not going to name what I paid, but they were cheap). Stripped them down, treated the rust with Bilt Hamber detox, few coats of hammerite gloss black sprayed on, new rubbers from Simon (think they were 40 quid each), used contact adhesive to glue the rubbers in place along the back edge and used a small stainless bolt and dome nut instead of the big pivot rivet (I did purchase the rivet kit, but I haven't got the tools/skill to fit them and glue has come along way since these cars were designed!) They've come up a treat and they're going on the car this weekend (if my bloody electrics ever get sorted!). |
