The pool of light is now noticably brighter, and I've manually adjusted my headlamps so that I can actually see the road ahead.
BUT I dont think Volvo really optimised the projector headlamps in the 04-07 S40/V50 for HALOGEN bulbs I had a set of the same Xtreme power bulbs on my previous car (A fiat grande punto) and they were absolutely fantastic. - Not so in the Volvo. My advice: If you own a 2007+ S40 without HID's, go out and buy some of the above bulbs, as Volvo stuck reflector headlamps in these newer S40's/V50's. If you own a 2004/05 S40 without HID's, go out and buy a HID kit. At around £30 a time these philips bulbs arent cheap, and they dont work to their full potential in the early S40/V50's so save your money for HIDs (I'll be doing so now). Just dont go sticking HID kits into reflector headlamps... |
