High emissions on 1.8 16v(non GDi)
Basically my question is can the inlet valves and throttlebody get carbon deposits on the 1.8 (1731cc, non GDi) engine?
I've had my S40 since June 07, when it started to have low idle and had to have throttlebody clean after only 82/83k on the clock. Now this year my MOT came back with high CO fail (0.34%) (at 89k), low HC and slightly high lambda. I know the Mistubishi GDi has a history of coking, but can the Volvo 16v four pot also get this problem? I find it very strange that my 16v got all the symptoms seen on the GDi. |
