Hello everyone
Hi peps
My name is Joe and I'm a new member on here so thought I'd better introduce myself and say Hi I have recently purchased a 1999 Mk1 S40 2.0I SE Auto and I am currently in the process of getting her ready for MOT. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attac...1&d=1703386079 https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attac...1&d=1703386079 https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attac...1&d=1703386079 Granted she's not much of a looker but she goes well and everything works so I can't complain I brought her off Ebay for less than £500, with 72k on the clock, almost FSH and a recent Cam belt and water pump change. Its a hell of a lot of car for such a little amount of £ so i'm pleased with my ebay bargain. Only job I've found outstanding so far is a knackered rear suspension mount in the boot, so im hoping that wont cause me to many issues to resolve. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attac...1&d=1703385980 Quite how they managed this I do not know She is the second Volvo I've owned (previously had a 5cyl v70 2.5TD) and I am happy to say she is just as comfortable and well equiped as I expected her to be. This is my first Auto box though so its taking a bit of getting used to but I can already see why people like them. One thing I''ve noticed though is that she does 'Stall' if I hit a hard emergency stop though, showing me the green 'Shift up' arrow on the dash. I don't know if this is normal or not but it's only happened once so I'm not overly worried for now. Or should I be? Anyhow, I'll be sure to keep you all posted with how I get on with her. Currently awaiting some Xenons for upfront (Main/Dipped beam & Sidelight) and also some LED's for the others. The main lights on this are rubbish but I've read enough now to know this is well known and I may upgraded to P2 Lights if my new bulbs don't resolve the issue to my liking. Oh and Happy Xmas to you all to Laters Joe |
