Default Unusually high wear of rear discs.

2015MY V70 D5 Manual 31k .
Today I have noticed that my rear brake discs are excessively worn. I knew they were worn at the back of last year when I did my 3yr service, but left the brakes till the warmer weather; so its not a sudden wearing. The discs appear worn below the 9mm "renew" thickness, as they have 1-2mm deep narrow ridges on the inner and outer edges where the pads have not swept. The pads still have about 4mm on them.
Is this the new norm or have I just a fault? I have never felt this car drag its brakes, and I do know what that feels like. The fronts, while not perfect appear to be far far less worn than the rears. By comparison my 2004 V70 AWD R has just had its second set of rear disc at 110K.

Euro car parts (not my 1st port of call - prefer Volvo) have a complete setup from Brembo @ just shy of £90. Worth it?

Cheers
Bob
