My first post here. I bought an immaculate 52 V70 two weeks ago with FSH. I got onto this thread (and the one about the destroyed hub) because the handbrake is at about 30 degrees before the shoes bite the hubs. I just thought it was just a quirk of the car (The handle is a bit too high in the car for my comfort, but I digress) until I came on here to see how to adjust it. I will take the wheels off to take a look next week I think, but am I reading the above correctly, that there's no adjuster on the shoes and I need to get an aftermarket one? I've had two Saab 9000's and that was a doddle to adjust the handbrake using the pads. I'm not getting any undue noises, clunks or clicking from the rear wheels, but after reading the threads, it's worried me somewhat-as the handbrake shoes don't seem to be on the service schedule which is unbelievable. The car has just clicked over to 113000 miles. Thanks in advance for clarification. |
