Default 242L for sale

Seen this on the internet in Denmark, what a lovely interior, and seems right money. just the LHD to consider.

€16k seems expensive, but cars do cost a lot more in Denmark due to high taxation.

The 'L' specification is interesting. It used to vary country by country (the importer specified the trim for each model variant). In the UK the 'L' was originally what the police ordered. Vinyl seats. Rubber mats (no carpets). Manual windows. I see here it even has no central clock on the dashboard. First time I've seen that!

Regards
Lucien

I agree, Lucien. The 'L' spec was very much the entry level or so called 'poverty spec'. The two doors and 1.9 engine further lowered the price.

I don't think that this spec was ever officially available in the UK; the lowest that we got being the DL. Buyers seeking prestige or executive cars here had higher expectations. I've seen and driven them in Scandinavia and they really are very basic.

Their very simplicity may lend them a certain charm today. On a more practical level, rubber mats were a more sensible choice than carpet in northern regions where snow may lie for many months of the year.

Regards, John.
