Sounds most like a air leak or a slightly dodgy temperature sensor to me...

Have you checked all your vacuum hoses?

actuly yes funny you should ask that as i have noticed my vac hoses ar looking old and coroded. have just bought some new braided fuel hose to replace all my vac lines. we see if it changes once these are changed.
i did open another thread on here about the best was to get to the vac pipe that comes from the turbo to the boost solanoid. whats the best way to get to the turbo end of the vac pipe as it looks hidden and hard to get to to replace the pipe? |

I too have this and find it very annoying. The issue is all the more pronounced when air con is running too. Disconnecting the ICV completely eliminates the problem and makes the revs drop quicker too allowing for a swifter gear change without any lurching, but someone (think it was Clan) posted up that this will harm your emissions. AFAICS it isn't a problem as such but it is annoying considering no other cars I have driven exhibit this behaviour. For what it's worth my dads 2.5 10V did it too.
