Default 1994 440 GLT for sale, B20F engine

I've decided to focus just on my 940 so I am selling my Volvo 440GLT. This has the B20F engine and has covered 163000 miles (so far). Colour is metallic burgundy red. We bought the car in 2002 for our daughter, but have used it ourselves for about the last 10 years.

MOT until May 29th 2015

Last January (2014) I took the engine out and did the following:
1. new oil seals to crank and driveshafts
2. new 3 part clutch
3. new water pump
4. new cambelt kit
5. new rear engine mount

Recently has also had a new radiator, new Lambda probe, new ABS ECU, all brake pipes copper or Kunifer, new driveshaft, new tailgate struts and lots of other small bits.
I replaced the rear wheel arches around 2007, but they do need tidying again. Other bits of welding have been done to the vehicle and it does need regular checking/ tidying. I have some original COB paint for anyone wishing to weld and paint their new bodywork!

Bad bits are lots of small rusty areas, some under car, some causing paintwork bubbling, worn drivers seat, probably wear in steering track rod (RHS), and sloppy/worn gearbox.

Good bits include a strong engine, everything works (except heated seats), alloy wheels in reasonable condition etc.

We have used it for several long journeys between Scotland and Cornwall this year, so still going strong and comfortable.

Price required: first £500 and it's yours!

Any questions or photos just ask,

IanF.

Well, no-one seems to want this so I think I will drive it until May when the tax/MoT etc run out. I have a replacement car now, so unless someone offers me something (?) for it (no curly wurlys please) it will probably just go the local dismantler for recycling

Inverkeithing in Fife. This is right next to the Forth Road Bridge on the North side of the river. Let me know if you want any photos etc.,

Hi, only just seen this. I'm after an electric aerial (actually really just need the mast) so one with a failed motor would be good, and a n/s rear trim which holds the speaker and the peg for the rear parcel shelf to hinge on.
Thanks.....

Hi, not ideal for you I'm afraid. I fitted a high quality replacement electric aerial some time ago - still works perfectly exactly as the original, but is not the original. The parcel shelf is there, but I've repaired the pegs which hold the parcel shelf - these seem to fail regularly on these cars.
I'm not planning on breaking the car, but will sell it complete for any reasonable offer. Insurance runs out in early May so that is the deadline, Mot runs for a further month,
