We are getting a LEZ in Glasgow very soon and as we have an old V40 1.8l automatic in the family, we had assumed it would be banned.
The car was first registered in late 2002 so has 52 plate. The registration document says emissions are 208g per something. The annual VED is quite high. However, when entering the registration number into the number plate checkers for any of the UK LEZs, it says the car is compliant. Which is at odds with the general statement that a petrol car registered before 2005 will normally not be compliant, i.e. not Euro 4. The small print contains a get out, saying information given out may be incorrect. The fine is £60 here, so we do not want to get it wrong. How can we check whether the car is compliant or not? |

Ignore the pre 2005 info. My V40 is not compliant, yet the C70 is. 2.4 petrol turbo.

Our daughter now owns this V 40, we gave it to her way back in 2008.
It has been a great car for her, and she loves it, has kept it going, mileage is about 90k. A few things need fixed, but nothing essential. Unfortunately her office is about 100m inside the LEZ, where she has free bookable parking, but we can lend her a compliant car, but not ideal as it is a Smart car with 2 seats, and she has 2 children to deliver to nursery before going to work. Would be great if the V 40 is actually compliant. |

Really just want to know who we can contact to establish the correct facts re this car.
If the car is not compliant then she will not enter the zone, but this will be really inconveniant for her. |

My late father's 2001 V40 1.8 (which is presently not roadworthy) appears to be compliant with the new Glasgow LEZ, whereas my 2003 V40 2.0, is not.
No idea why. Try this checker: https://www.lowemissionzones.scot/ve...ration-checker
