They usually iron out all or most of the faults about a year before the model is replaced, I have had several recalls and a couple of minor faults, the most annoying is the power pulse pipes, why cant they sort this problem out. I dont suppose they will even try now that it is no longer used on new cars. The car will very rarely leave you stranded, most are annoying faults.
The other thing to consider is the amount of new technology being used in these cars especially the T8 and hybrid cars that will take years for us guinea pigs to find and get resolved and manufactured out, the new SPA cars can be looked at as Beta models for several years to come. Wish I still had my 244 or my 1998 V90. But saying that I like my XC90 apart from the PP pipes and Road noise. Its a great tow car.

The front page is definitely not a good advert for Volvo. Maybe it will prompt them to deal with problems and issues highlighted by our forum contributors and other customers more quickly.

Funny that my copy arrived this week and seems my MY2020 XC60 has decided it no longer likes fuel in the engine. 😐

They sampled just 38 xc90 cars and no hybrids and they included recalls .

They sampled just 39 xc90 cars and no hybrids and recalls were classed as a fault
The XC90 was not bottom with respect to: -cars with one or more breakdowns, -the average days off the road being repaired, or -the average number of faults. what makes it the most unreliable car is that 73% of 39 owners talked to experienced one or more "faults"

We picked up our new xc90 inscription from the dealer at the end of June. only got a few miles down the road from the dealership and noticed warning lamp on dash. back to dealer next day for an oxygen sensor replacement. it was probably lit when we drove off...just didn't notice / expect to leave with a problem.

I glanced through the article on car reliability and was after the shock horror headline I was more impressed by the amount of criticism for the Landrover family of vehicles - however I only did a quick look at the article.

Another article on this subject: https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...car-VOLVO.html
Some of the analysis seems questionable but, if correct, the unreliability of SPA XC90s after 3 years is troubling.
