Paint coming off with a pressure washer
I have the unfortunate experience of paint coming off on the rear bumper when using a pressure washer to clean the car. Thankfully stopped as soon as I saw it so not a large area.
Volvo dealers have so far suggested it's not their issue, citing it's possibly been hit, or a previous repair. I've had the car from new, its 6 months old and has no other driver. The plastic panel paint job looks like a weak point. Never had an issue on my last 6 Audi / VW cars and have to say that this is probably another material/build quality issue I am witnessing on a car I really love. Seat wear, easily marked internal surfaces etc all poor by comparison to other recent cars. Anyone else had this problem?

When i bought a bmw some years ago, the sales guy did warn me not to jet wash the car in the first month or so, although he didn't give me a reason. I have had my S90 for 3 months now and I must admit, I have been reluctant to jet wash it so far but is planning to do that in the next couple of weeks.
I must say, build quality of Volvo SPA cars is taking time to mature based on the comments here in the forum and also from my experience of my first Volvo...Still love it though, it is very refreshing. I don't regret owning a Volvo one single bit. |

I think you have to think about how high a pressure your pressure washer is, and how close you put the jet to the body work?
Although I do think a poor show from Volvo, but did you argue their point? stating I do not get that close. Lets face it some pressure washers can cut through metal like butter |

I have a power washer at home, use it all the time on the Volvo and never had an issue? Take it to a body specialist and get a report and then go back to dealer and ask them to pay to get it fixed, paint that 'hasn't been damaged' coming off with a pressure washer is a manufacturing issue.
