1998 v70 t5 cd
Unfortunately, the time has come to sell my Volvo V70 T5. Purchased in September 2021 from a gentleman who had owned it since 2011 and had covered just 10,000 miles in that time, mainly driving to the shop and his annual holiday to Devon every year. I have since done around 5,500 miles in 18 months and the car has been amazing in that time and never let me down, it even managed an impressive 38.6mpg on a 400-mile trip from London. It drives really well, very comfortable long-distance cruiser, smooth gear changes and when you want to, can be really quick. When I purchased the car I initially took it to a local Vovlo specialist (Voltech) to give the car a onceover and replace the timing belt, which was previously carried out in April 2016. I have since used the car on a semi regular basis and still really enjoy driving it. This car will have it’s 25th birthday this year, so as you can imagine there are a few age related marks, but I have been honest in my description of the condition. These are getting pretty rare now with less than 100 on the roads (taxed & MOTd) so an good opportunity to purchase a modern classic that is genuinely usable every day.

The previous owner showed me an Autotrader verification and mileage readout from when he purchased in 2011 showing the mileage as 65,728 in May 2002 and then 78,000 in August 2007 (I have this paperwork) He assured me the mileage was genuine, and it didn’t really bother me. However I can’t guarantee this. Price - £3,950. Location - Glasgow Have loads of pictures and info I can send over if needed. |

Just thought the pictures looked like where I used to live ( Claddens Place )
Nice car and I've always fancied a T5 but need to thin down my other Volvo's before that can happen

Looks lovely and an admirable explanation of the mileage change. However, this car has done well over 200k miles.
One blip in the MOT mileage can be explained away as a tester with more skill on the spanners than the keyboard, but it was on 144,929 miles on 24 March 2006, then 154,880 miles on 21st June 2007, before reducing to 78,247 miles on 31 July 2007. My guess is that the speedo stopped working and the owner replaced it with a used unit instead of repairing the drive cogs.

A quick connection to VIDA will confirm the correct mileage within seconds.
