I am sure there are 10 threads on here but I can't find. So after an oil change and 5.9 ltr put in. How do I reset electronic symbol to full on clock display?Regards

You need VIDA to reset the electronic dipstick.
If you haven't got VIDA, you won't be able to reset it. However, it'll reset itself after 20 miles or so driving. Is your model a twin turbo variant? If not, I think it only needs 5.7 litres. If its twin turbo, then 5.9 litres is fine.

Many thanks for the info. Shall I just put 5.8 ltr in and half the difference? However is there a definitive way of establishing if my vehicle is single or twin turbo? Is there a site to input my chassis number or similar to verify. Or do I just call a dealer! Regards

Due to rising oil levels with the DPF I believe you shouldn’t fill to capacity? There should be a sticker on the honey to advise. Some Volvos are able to have a dipstick fitted retrospectively. Is yours one of those? |

You could also phone a dealer, give them your reg & they'd be able to tell you in no time whether its a euro 5 with two turbo's. Usually, the twin turbo models have two exhaust pipes. I'm not sure if that's the case on all models, but that might be another thing you can check. If your car is a twin turbo variant, then 5.9 litres of oil is fine. If its not, then it requires 5.7 litres. If you haven't got VIDA, just drive the car for a while & the electronic gauge will reset itself after around 15-20 miles.
