I carnt imagine this being much fun to drive, its listed on their new car data sheets.

Maybe not but if it's the £35 a year for road tax version that does 70mpg then I would have one.

I wouldn't pay £22000 on a car just to save £120 a year on road tax & the d5 does 45mpg

It's aimed at the company-car and lease-car market where running costs are more important. As the current S80 is based on the Mondeo I can't see a 1.6 diesel with 110bhp and just short of 180 torques being such a bad thing; it won't make a pair of number 11's in the tarmac, but probably capable of pulling the skin of a rice pudding...

about 13 seconds to 60 mph and 110 mph ish .. 57 mpg .. £35 tax There will be a V 70 with this almost universal engine as well .

Performance figures dont look that bad on paper, actualy, given size of car. wouldn't fancy one though. think towing could be intersting!

11.7 seconds to 60 and 118 mph top-end; hardly shabby in the overall context of the thing
