Default 2002 S80 2.4 170 auto project

I have purchased this 02 S80 2.4 170 Auto from this very nice lady on this forum as a project.MOT was failed on exaust CO content after 2nd fast idle and Exaust lambda reading after second fast idle,as well as parking brake efficiency and one tyre bellow 1.6 mm depth. My main concern was auto box, given the fairly high mileage (147k) but as far as I can tell it seems to shift ok.Bodywork, while it has no major panel damage or rust is tatty at best and so is interior.Being an amateur bodger with no Volvo expirience this should be fun and I will almost certainly need a lot of help from this forum. My first question would be regarding the broken interior handle for bonnet opening, has anyone managed to repair that ? Secondnly, what can be done with worn armrest and handbrake leather cover? Thanks

Funny you mention the plates I've been looking at those lately

Best I can find at the moment is BW51 STU

I wanted BW51 YOB but the missus said she would never get in my car again (or was it BO51.. I forget)

So now I have a fleet of 2 Volvos, one even has private plate, unfortunately not suitable for me as one of the previous owners was a chap called Ollie who was a DJ, LOL .So my 2002 V70 2.4 170 manual, purchased 5 months ago as my first Volvo,120k,nice history with some shocking bills from the past ( instrument cluster ) , very nice car , but my previous Mercs spoiled me ,and now I prefer autos...

Word centre armrest cover?

You can buy a new cover from ebay for about £7.00 remove the plastic top armrest (YouTube vids explain how to) then remove the damaged leather cover and replace then refit.

That's what I did on mine.

Or you can buy a cover already fitted to the plastic piece for around £22 ish.
