V60 Mirrors not folding
Hi guys, I have a 2012 D4 V60 - it's had issues in the past where the drivers door won't open - you have to open it from the inside. it happens infrequently enough that we just put it down to one of those things.
it's now come back from my local garage after having new belts and aux battery fitted - and my folding mirrors aren't working. my mechanic did a diagnostic and it looks like there are 3 errors: driver door central locking motor commanded position not reachable driver doo central locking motor circuit short or open front lock motor common circuit - circuit short or open. I have a feeling the first is a result of the two others - i.e the commanded position isn't reachable because of a short or open circuit. I have yet to check the fuses - which I will do imminently - but is there anything else to look at? thanks |

I hope I’m not leading you down the garden path here. But I vaguely recall a post recently that had similar issues. This I’m sure was down to a worn/split/damaged wire in the loom that goes into the door. I’m pretty positive there was a covering UTube video of it being rectified at the same time as a door hinge problem.
Might be worth opening the door wide, remove the loom boot from the door and see if there is a short/break in the wires. It was fixed by a simple wrap of insulating tape nothing more. No real mechanical know-how required, and it could be a free fix. Good luck.
