T4 Block from SW Autos
Can anyone help with the collection of a T4 bottom end (i.e. block, crank-web, crankshaft and sump) from SW Autos in Kent? A fellow T4 owner is in dire need of the parts as his car is off the road, in need of some work, and Volvo will only supply complete engines. Unfortunately, he has been advised that SW Autos are currently inundated with work and are hence unable to get the various parts together on a pallet and shipped, in the forseeable future. They have advised that collection of the parts would be preferable. If anyone could help with the collection and drop the block off in London, it can be forwarded on; alternatively if anyone is coming from that neck of the woods, to the meet at MRG Volvo in Chippenham next week and can bring it along, that would be even better. You will, of course, be reimbursed for any expenses incurred (e.g. fuel etc). Please let me know asap. Thanks.

I could collect it and bring it to London. I've just recieved a job in Maidstone for next week. Although I'm going to MRG I couldn't say weather or not I'd be able to bring it as I may be coming from Lancashire rather than London. If it's more use to you in the London area, maybe I could drop it off with someone who's going directly from London.
Any use?

I think after speaking to Nuisance yesterday, he'd rang them to try and pick it up yesterday, but..... apparently they are too busy and said "We can't find it this week" or similar.
Quite how you can't find an engine I'm not sure

I was quite surprised at that myself because the same was said to the guy who needs the engine, when he tried to get it a week or two ago. He was told that they are extremely busy building some race cars so hopefully Chris will be able to help locate it when he's down there.

Thanks for letting me know Chris. If you can pick it up, I will be really grateful. It has to be there because it was stripped back in March as another forum owner urgently needed some pistons. It was in superb condition and that I why I am certain it will sort out the problem this other member is experiencing. If you can have a look it will be much appreciated; its a B4204T5.

Sad old day
Ashok
JUst been to see Stuart to get some work done on my R and he is really disappointed that you seem to be choosing such a confrontational stance when you haven't even spoken to him on the subject regarding your engine. He has managed to find the block & web and is looking for the crankshaft. Perhaps you should call him if you have a problem with the engine which he built for you in 2005 as he's heard nothing direct from you. Whilst at SW I was shown two email from you to Stuart one dated 18/10/2007 asking for the engine and an email dated 19/11/07 giving him the engine number hae had resquested from you so he could find the right part. Doesn't sound like 4 months delay to me mate You obvioulsy have issues with SW which you need to resolve, do what I do talk to the man direct! |

John,
Unfortunately it appears you may have not read all of the posts prior... As has been said, Ashok has tried to talk to Stuart and he has never been avaialble to take the call. There was direct contact mentioned by ashok where Stuart said he was very busy preparing race engines and had little or no time to locate the required engine. Either way, this thread has been running for some time now and a resolution has still to be found! Even if the e-mails you 'saw'...which I dont think is legal btw as it contravines the Data Protection Act to show private conversations between a customer and service provider, where acurate in date and time etc, the first request wass still made in October...so even then it's still a month since the first request...still not exactly what you would call customer service. As a further note to this.... Stuart has made no attempt to resolve this issue via the forum, his spokesman Matt however has and has been unable to provide a simple straight forward answer despite being aked NUMEROUS times if the engine was even on the premises any more... can you honestly say hand on heart (assuming you have read everything prior) that Ashok's treatment has been fair? |

I will say it again! Im not stuarts spokesman. enigma666, Im sure you must be able to see that not all the facts presented in this thread. Now, for those of you who thought the engine had been, put in another car, sold etc etc - you all look rather foolish now dont you think?
