My S40 Badly Damaged!
Someone hit and run my S40 on the N/S rear wheel today, i spoke to my insurance and they said i will need to pay £350 excess amount, but my premiums will go up. There's no witnesses, and no cameras. I parked the car for literally 5 mins on the cul-de-sac, came out and saw the damage. I am hoping the suspension part/s are not damaged, just hope it needs a new wheel. i couldn't physically see any suspension damage, but cannot tell unless i remove the wheel and have a thorough look. Whenever i brake, I can hear this scraping noise, as though the wheel is touching one of the suspension arms.
Here are the pics: The steering doesn't stay straight anymore, this is position of the steering wheel. Hopefully it will just be out of alignment, however a hit that big I would guess it might be new control arms if you're lucky. If you're unlucky it could have taken out the mounting points which will be spendy.
Get it checked out by a decent garage then make a decision about insurance. |

I hope the suspension are fine. As I am out of job won't have enough to sort out the suspension. I'm going take pics of the suspension now, and upload them. Will go and take it to a professional garage tomorrow morning. |

I'm surprised that there is no body work damage it looks like its just been against the kerb. Wheel re-furb and tracking.

Zeb said on first post:
"There's no witnesses, and no cameras. I parked the car for literally 5 mins on the cul-de-sac, came out and saw the damage". Then on page 3 said: "I was driving the car, then I parked up for 5 mins or so (went to the shops). Sat in the car and saw TCS light on, drove the car anyway as I thought it could be a faulty sensor, and straight away I felt the steering position turning left. Got out of the car to see if there's any damage, and saw the N/S wheel damaged. So I drove slowly and safely back home." So I dunno really.

I think the Sun would make that a page 1 story! Local man says: "Motorcyclist destroyed my car - and buggered off"
