What are the best tyres to put on an XC90?
Hi, I've had my XC90 (bought second hand from a Volvo dealer) for over a year now. The front two tyres need replacing and I wondered what people's experience was with which tyres to put on the car?

In my experience the Grabbers don't give any more noise, give excellent wet weather/snow grip and can handle a decent level of off roading. If (when) i end up with an XC90 I'll be putting a set on straight away. For completeness i run the 275/45/20 versions on the D3, as well as being a great tyre they also ave a certain aesthetic quality too! |

Vredstien Wintrac 4 Extreme are my prefered choice on the 18" wheels. And yes I run them all year round.

I am going to replace all mine in the next couple of months - currently Pirrelli Scorpions, which have been fine and lasted 20k + including a fair amount of towing.
Think I'll go for Grabbers - I've found them at £138/each fitted, on black circles. The scorpions are £162. The cheapest wintracs I could find were £180.15 fitted or £131.90 supply only. Have only ever had scorpions, so it will be interesting. |

£48 a tyre fitting is too much. I paid £12 a tyre to have mine fitted.

Roy,
These were different companies offers on Wintracs - Camskill for supply only +£2.49/tyre post + fitting at say £15 = £150. Are they worth the extra £50 over the Grabbers for a set???????? |

Go for Nokian NRvi's - I fitted 4 to mine a couple of years ago and still lots of tread left. About half the price of conti's

Yokohama Advan S.T. 255/50R19 107W
anyone else got any experience of Yokohama Advan S.T. 255/50R19 107W on an XC90 SE Sport? I'm changing from a set of winter Pirelli Scorpions which were brilliant in the Scottish snow if a bit expensive. Standard P Zeros were useless in the snow and only lasted 6000 miles on the front. Time to try something else.
