Default Zephyrus or

After my dangerous foray into political things (sorry!), I thought I'd best redeem myself with a XC question....

Wheels!

As some of you are bored with knowing, I am 99% certain to be sticking with Ice White on our XC60 (!), and I thought the 'diamond cut' Zephyrus wheels went rather well.
I prefer the 'easier to clean, fewer spokes' design & indeed the look, but I am mildly concerned at how well diamond cut wheels stand up to our roads. Hoping to get some 17" rims for winter rubber to reduce that concern....

but I am wondering whether anyone with these wheels has any reservations now....or perhaps is more than happy?

The do look good with the white, and the alternatives for me would be the standard Pan 18" (not keen on the black meracs), but they just look.....fiddly with all those spoke bits!

I actually like the simplicity of the Segin ones (remember I am a son-to-be-Ex-Saab man - they had some great 3-spoke designs!), but they are only 17", which does look a little lost (although perhaps fine for winter wheels)....

Cheers

I have gone through the exact same dilemma....what would look good with my Crystal White XC60?

I toyed with the black meracs but concluded that the combo didn't suit a large car and that it kind of made the wheel arches into big black holes. Also any kerbing would take the paint off and be very noticeable.

I then looked at the diamond cut wheels but I had a nightmare with a previous car (Mondeo) which had beautiful diamond cut alloys. However after one winter small pin pricks in the laquer coat allowed moisture in which then allowed the wheel to corrode, bubble up under the laquer and then the laquer coat started falling off. This accelerated the situation and after 3 years they looked a right old mess.

So have decided to stick with the standard Pans and purchase a soft toothbrush and a good wheel cleaner!!

thx Crockers, you must remind me where the pics of yours are!

To be honest, I am convinced they look the biz.....I'm more concerned how they may look 3-4+ years down the line!
