Default Number Plate LED?

I cant seem to find what bulb they are and eBay just chucks up all kinds of things?

I know people have changed theirs, so could someone point me in the direction of them on eBay please?

Its for a 2008 S40 not sure if the V50 differs?

I used the below company for mine.

https://www.crazyleds.co.uk/

38mm Feston is what you are after and you need the canbus ones.

Number plate lights are not canbus, same as front fog lights, front marker lights and front parking lights.

Didn't think the reg plate lights were canbus as mine had blown a while ago and only noticed it when the 'find me' lights were on.

Silly question but I have an 07 model V50S petrol 1.6....am I right in thinking that you need special bulbs for this car, not just bog standard bulbs that I have made up a spares kit with...Halfords bulbs...Surely not a case if I replace a bulb I need a CANBUS compatible bulb?

Oh dear that isn't good.

You should be able to get it out by using a hair dryer around the edges of the seal and using a flat head to pry it open. Make sure you either use a sealant to fix it back or rewarm what is there and then fit it back.

Hopefully this sounds obvious but have you tried removing the light cluster so you can shake the bulb out? Only I've heard of someone struggling to change bulbs not realizing how easy the clusters are to remove in these cars!

Just disconnect the wire socket by pressing the tab and wiggling it, then remove the shiny metal peg (looks like a tent peg and the back of the light) and you should then be able to remove the light.
