Smile 850 Double DIN Radio fitting cage for SC-805 unit

Hi,
I have an old Phase 1 1993 Volvo with a single DIN radio in it.
I have removed the plastic tray divider to enable a double DIN SC-805 radio/CD/Cassette unit to go in its place. I already haver the converter cable harness for the radio.

All I need now is a Volvo Double DIN metal cage to set the new unit into to hold it firmly in the right place.

Does anyone in here have such a thing?

Please let me know how much including P+P

Regards and thanks

they don't have metal cages for the double din as it locks in place by the front clips that lock on the centre bars that are built in.

Hi,
this early 1993 model does not have the same set up. It is split into 2 by a solid plastic tray that makes just a single DIN unit fit on the top, and a single DIN sized cubby hole space beneath. Back then Volvo only specced a single DIN and never thought of using a double.
I had to chop out the solid plastic plate/tray with a dremel and so create a space for a double DIN unit.

There is nothing in there that would hold or allow a Double DIN unit to "click" into....it keeps going back and would drop behind the fascia without a cage.

Thanks for you time.

yeah i know the setup

your going to need to get a cage fabricated as a standard double din cage won't fit the volvo radio or look for a jvc as they have 2 1/2's that screw to the radio and i have some lying around in my garage that might fit will have a look tomorrow
