Towing Mirror Recommendations
Well, after a few years of procrastination, SWMBO and I have finally taken the plunge and ordered our first caravan.
As our dog was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year, we have decided not to leave her with family when on hols (she needs twice daily insulin injections), so caravanning felt like the ideal solution. Anyway, we're in the process of sorting everything out prior to picking the 'van up early next year and I decided it would be better to ask for advice from you fellow Volvo users than head to the local accessory store. I'm going to be towing with a 2012MY S80 - does anyone happen to have a view on which towing mirrors will fit the car mirrors well, being stable in use whilst also maintaining the ability to fold the mirrors in when locking the car? I presume (perhaps incorrectly) that the S80 mirrors are the same shape as the V70 & XC70 - can anyone confirm this? If so, I'm guessing that there will be a lot more people towing with these than S80s, so if any of them can share what mirrors work well for them I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Steve. |

No experience of theS80 but on my XC60 the mirrors do not quite fold in parallel with the door glass. If this is the case on the S80 then I can recommend the Milenco Aero mirrors which are very stable.
If not sure pop into your caravan dealer and ask to try some.

I have used a few different types over the years but this is the only ones I would recommend now. You can also get them in wide angle which I personally use now'
http://www.milenco.com/products/mirr...towing-mirror/ I also bought the standard aero mirrors which I only used once to go to France but found them to small. But as suggested go into a dealer and see what's available as there are other cheaper alternatives from approx £14.00. Last edited by volvo145; Nov 5th, 2014 at 11:38. |

The Milenco GRAND Aero mirrors are the best towing mirrors I have used in nearly thirty years of towing caravans. Don't compromise on ease of fitting and adjustment by going for something cheaper and choose the bigger Aero version for maximum visibility.

I have just tried Milenco Grand Aero's on my XC60 and they fit perfectly. I have had them since 2009 and used them on 3 other cars. I like them a lot, very solid and little or no vibration.

I have used Milenco Aeros for a few years now after reading so many positive reviews about them when we started. Didn't bother buying all the cheaper ones and gradually moving upto those just took the plunge!
Were very steady on last BMW and see no reason why they wont be as good on the new XC60
