Smile 144 spares or restore for sale soon...

I've just bought a house in East Devon and in the garage is a 144 that has not been used for quite some time, I haven't had a good look at it yet, so have no further details, but will post details on here as soon as I have some more myself.

Ok, so I had a quick look, its a little buried in years of household stuff, but its G reg and the overdrive model. Photo attached should give you some idea of what I'm unearthing.

I'd love an overdrive 'box in my '71 145 one day, to save fuel on my daily commute.
If you find that your 144 find is too far gone, can I ask that you keep me in mind should you consider just selling the transmission or even the powertrain (engine, trans, prop)?
Fantastic find and thanks for posting for all the forum.

It took a while, but its found its way to me!
Sadly, although its badged as an overdrive, its a standard 4 speed, engine is seized solid and its as rotten as a rotten pear!
Poor thing!

Not so sure that this will be restored I'm afraid.
The attached pictures will show how bad it is and the fact its had another car sat on its roof hasn't helped things!
The back end currently has 2 logs wedged in where the rear springs used to be just to keep it level enough to push around!

Default V5 or not V5?

What does everyone think about me getting a new registration document in my name? Is that going to be a help or hinderance for people?
Thanks Thomas

Default worthless

a car without V5 is "" worthless""

because ownership is unidentified.

get a V5 in your name and the car gets value./

V5 isn't an ownership document, it merely tells you who the registered keeper is.
