Default C70 D5 Cambelt Replacement Guide

Does anyone know of a guide to changing the cambelt on a C70 D5 or just a D5?

Thanks. Would anyone know if there are significant differences for the various versions of D5 in terms of a timing belt change?

Haynes covers various versions of the D5 but shows one method only.
You set your crank and cam timing marks, remove the tensioner, belt and idler then refit preserving your marks.
Turn engine by hand to make sure all is good and you're done.
Your limitations may be your tool collection if you don't have something to remove and replace the 300Nm crank nut and hold the crank in place for both procedures.

The C70 D5 is unique in having 2 Aux belts and 2 Aux belt tensioners , All must also be replaced as well as the cambelt , it's tensioner and idler ....

Thanks for the response gents.

Just wondering what tool is required for the crank nut - a damn big spanner I assume?

Yes, I rang FRF Volvo and was informed I need two auxiliary belts as well as the timing belt - I assume the tensioners would also need to be replaced? They were more than double the price of the belts.

see above about tensioners !

You need a 32mm impact socket preferably as they do not flex . and a special tool to stop the crank pulley from rotating when you are trying to do it up to 300 nm ,, you can seriously damage yourself if your makeshift tool lets go . also the 4 crank pulley bolts need replacing as they are stretch bolts ..
