Default Remember the firsts

I remember a lot of things...

...my children's first word, first step.
...my first girlfriend, first time.

...my first prang.

Came this morning. My wife called my as I was pulling into work. The conversation began with "don't go mad".

I took my wife's car to work today. I bought a westfalia towbar last week, and not wanting to risk a scratch to my 4 week old car, I decided against fitting it myself. So it was booked in with a local fitter this morning, and the missus took it.

But before she did, after I left for work, someone took the pleasure of scratching the car on my behalf.

I know the damage is not bad The reflector just clips into place. But it is enough to ruin my day. Worst thing is that we are going to France in a few weeks, and I don't want to risk it being with the dealer on the days when I should be packing. So I have to live with this while I drive around France.

Get a scratch repair specialist to come round to your house and fix it. It won't take long.

hi jeffo, sorry to see the scratch.

Roy is likely to be correct,

i scratched my old bright red celica a few years back on the rear left bumper.

toyota dealer in oxford quoted over £400. found out from the guy there who they get in to do their body work. contacted him direct, got him to come to my work. he spent a few ours grinding back, doing several coats. end job was only £150-£200 (i remember it being less than half) and you couldn't tell it had been done. apparantly he covered all the toyota dealers in the oxfordshire area.

i am sure it will be the same with volvo where they use a specialist body shop.

near where i work, there is a bodyshop which deals with at least 6 makes of cars coming in directly from the dealer, so i am sure they will farm it out.

plus it will keep any "damage" off of the full volvo service history you will no doubt want to keep.

Sorry to hear about your problem Jeffo.

If it were me, I would definately take it to my Volvo dealer as I know that they have a second to none bodyshop, if your dealer has their own bodyshop then there is no question as to whether they will do the work themselves.

I would at all costs avoid the likes of Chips Away and similar companies with great claims, I am a perfectionist but I have never seen a so called smart repair that I can`t see, having the work carried out by Volvo will keep your warranty intact to.

Hope you get sorted
