Default Footswitch issues

My footswitch is playing up, it doesn't reliably switch from dip to main to dip and sometimes leaves me with no lights at all!

I've had it apart and cleaned up/sanded terminals, still no go, I guess I am looking at a replacement?

Could use one ASAP, car being sold Monday, both Brookhouse and (erm the other one) seem closed just now.

Try a VW place, such as megabug or karmann connection, since the switch is the same as those on Beetles etc.

Nearly all US car upto 1980 has also similar foot controlled switches for high/low beam and they are probably a lot cheaper than a original German made switch.

Al;

Maybe the problem wasn't with the footswitch in the first place...apparently your taking it "apart and cleaning up/sanding terminals" didn't address the root cause! I suggest you determine the precise cause of problem and direct your repair efforts there...

Good Hunting from Connecticut!
