460 immobilser problem
I have a 1997 460 gle in good condition that I am trying to sell but the battery went flat and when I charged it again the factory fitted alam system and immobilser seems to be wonky . The key button will not open the doors but will turn on/off the alarm ..! when I open the door with the key and try to start the car all the lights etc come on but it wont turn over , it is as if the immobilser is stuck .. I have tried changing the battery in the hand control and holding buttons to reset it with the battery out etc but to no avail . I really need to get this started . Can anyone help with a solution or even a way to disable the immobiliser ?

Fob
Quote:
Just seen your problem, so this may be a little late. I had the same problem, flat battery and then the fob not functioning after replacing the battery. I did the same thing as you did with replacing the batteries (2 in my 440). Did you clean the area in the fob that makes contact with the battery? That area in my fob was quite dirty. Also you could try to carefully lever up the 'springs' that support the other side of the batteries. This worked for me, after a couple of minutes of blessing the car. |
