Those wheels are the most dangerous wheels to go for.
They consist of an iron metal rim/ring and an alloy hub RIVETED together - if one know's a little about bi-metal corrosion - one would know that alloy and iron against each other is a vey eroding mix. The iron rim is chromed and the chrome job is POOR - so ALWAYS rusty looking. And you are in the dark, if you don't get the correct wheel nuts - these wheels do NOT use standard ones.. These wheels are known for coming apart - Yes, an original accessorie from the past - but one that's very unrestoreable and you take a chance each time driving with them.. I strongly recomend NOT to buy those kind of wheels... Sorry Dylan, but I think it's important to mention. At least - they aren't that rare - No one in Scandinavia want's them - so tons of them here..

Thats very interesting ClassicVolvoShop. I didn't know that was an issue with them. I was aware that they were riveted together and aware of the corrosive properties of the mix but didn't put two and two together! I actually have a set of these and I must replace those rivets before I put them on the car and replace them every 2 years or so because I really like them!

Nice wheels alright, pity about the safety issues. They're sort of reminiscent of the Austin 1100 GT / Triumph Stag wheels with the black inners and brushed alloy piping: always loved that look.

I think they could be restored prfoessionally, if you wanted to. Other cars (e.g. Scimitar SE5a and MGB V8) have alloy-centre wheels with a steel rim and I'm sure there are companies who can restore them.
