Default New to forum 145 Estate restoration

Got fed up with triumphs, and decided to give a volvo a go.
I own a Rotten early 145, i wanted a amazon estate but stupid money so ended up with this. I'll try work out how to get some pics up.

I've got pretty good outer pannels but inner wings need lots of work. there seems to be some reinforcing to the rear shock mounts, yet its not present on the 240s, why is this?

also how easy is it to fit twin carbs and matching exhaust manifold from an amazon, mine is running a single carb, dont want expense of webbers although do have a pair of 40s knocking around.

Anyway enough of i'm sure stupid questions

There is a large quarter section of a disk, with profile stamped in it, looks like an oldfashioned waving fan, welded in the rear wheel arch. The shock bolt goes through it into the chassis beam. This spot likes to accumulate dust and rusts away, I haven't seen a 140 with the original still intact. I guess that's why Volvo improved this construction on the 240.

The B18 in the Amazon is more or less the same as the B20 in the 140, most parts interchange fysically and even function.
