Drive it Day April 17th.
As the Drive it Day looms closer, I was interested to hear member's thoughts on this opportunity to use and been seen to use our cars - especially those of us (like me) that drive older* Volvos.
Prufrock. P.S tricky subject, but sticking my neck out...pre 1992? |

That's no-one from Lincolnshire interested in the forthcoming Drive it Day then?

Drive it Days.
This is not organised globally but is an event started by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) in 2005.
Take a look at http://fbhvc.co.uk/drive-it-day/ Usual practice is for groups of club members on a local/regional basis to organise a drive; thus preserving the freedom to drive classics. I believe it was originally started to celebrate an anniversary of a thousand mile drive in 1900! I'm driving mine - just done an 80 mile round trip to Lincoln and back. Prufrock. 404?
404 not found.
I drive at least one of my Volvos every day - just not the one I am locked in mortal combat with Aviva Insurance about. Never, never, never insure a car with Aviva or with Towergate Insurance (a consortium they lead that writes a LOT of classic car insurance). |

Drive it Day
Quote:
I use either my 1988 744 or my 1986 745 everyday (not that I drive every day), I drove the 744 today, 745 is having a new front pipe on Monday. Prufrock. Last edited by Prufrock; Apr 14th, 2011 at 20:34. |

Too young
It seems my Volvos are too young - and I am too young too! I'd like a vintage or PVT car but it's not going to happen any time soon.

Drive It Day
Was out in the PV yesterday, 65 mile trip through South Notts & Leicestershire. Excellent day out with the family, 40 odd cars including a tidy Amazon, fair cross section of classics. Organised by Carlton & District Motor Club, another well run event.
Regards, Richard. |
