Default P1 headlamps

Mine fell to bits during the MOT

All I've got are the backing case, electrical adjuster, lense and seal.

I need reflectors (n/s & o/s) and four mechancial adjusters.

Anyone?

Found this one on fleabay. Might sell for very little. Ask him if he is willing to pack and if you can arrange your own courier

Thanks Gatos,

The challenge with the P1 units is that they're always-on which introduces the element of heat. This appears to cause the two adjusters, that could do with being made from Bakelite but aren't, to go brittle and collapse. I have another P1 and a P2 (which had been set to d/r/l=on) with collapsing adjusters as well.

Looking at the headlamps I removed the additional issues were the two bulb connectors had melted, one reflector had been rubbed back to plastic and the other had the adjuster tab broken off so that the reflector wobbled internally and the the bulb retention clip was broken. Additionally the two parking light holders were partially melted/brittle.

Breakers' work for some things but for P1 headlights I'm less convinced and I've only eight days left to get the job done.

Researching yesterday I found new (CE marked?) headlamps for between £150-250 a pair on eBay, was quoted £270 by my local motor factor and £350 by FRF. FRF did however quote £150 for four adjusters and two reflectors, which would have the virtue of restoring the 'lights (excluding the sidelight holders and three-pin clips) back to Volvo standard; and given how poor these lights are generally that might be no bad thing.
