C70 convertible remote key fobs

We got two of these with the car (2004) - but does anyone know why one should be black, while the other is red?

RED ? never seen a red one ! certainly non volvo ... does it work?

Yes - identical in every regard to the black one - just red!

For clarification: they're both identical to the one in the picture - but one of them's red.

With my 2001 cabrio, I have two sets, two Master keys for normal usage, and one Service key. Look at the keys themselves, on mine the rubber part one gray and one black. The service key only works in the drivers door and ignition. May-be that applies to your different colored remotes.

See if you can obtain a copy of the "Owner's Manual" really worth while having.

A real stab in the dark...

Perhaps one of the fob 'cases' broke in the past and a replacement was found on some sort of auction site?

Makes a perfect idea for 'his' and 'hers' keys, though!
