Default Reversing sensor problem

My reversing sensor now continually buzzes when in reverse gear. I have tried getting a new control unit but dealers only want to sell a complete set including bumper sensors at about £350.00. Has anyone got any ideas please?

Constant sound is normally a failed sensor. What kit is it? And are your sensors nice and clean?

Hi zaskar, The sensor kit is a volvo one with the No. 9187071 on the control unit. I assume the sensors are clean as the car is regularly washed. Or can they get dirty behind the bumper?

Nah, that wont matter. Generally constant tone is a failed sensor, Maybe you can buy a new sensor seperately and plug it in in place of another sensor one at a time? Im sure someone with specific experience may be along soon! Hope that helps though!
